The Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Vice Dean for Scholarships Affairs, organized a training course entitled Electronic Self-Services, presented by Dr. Omar Al-Farouq Al-Senussi, the academic advisor, at the Academic Counseling Center at the Deanship of Admission and Registration, in the presence of the Vice Dean for Scholarship Affairs, Dr. Assem Al Hamad, on Thursday 3/30/1438 AH in the auditorium Student club training.

Dr. Nada Abdel Mohsen Al-Hassan, General Supervisor of the Medical Services Center at the university, confirmed that the center is one of the main and important destinations in the service and medical system, which provides health care to the university’s employees, whether faculty members, administrative staff or students, through 21 specialized clinics. And a group of quality medical units and programs in which a group of doctors, who specialize in all fields, work.

The Medical Services Center at Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University is one of the main interfaces in the healthcare system in Riyadh. The university was formed as an educational institution that includes a number of colleges and scientific institutes spread inside and outside the Kingdom and called it (medical services).

Medical services continued to expand in specialized clinics and support services until they moved to the headquarters of the health center in the university city in 1411 AH. The center worked to develop and improve the medical services provided to patients, both preventive and curative, seeking to develop and improve the health care provided.

Today, the medical services, in its men’s and women’s departments, have taken pioneering and wonderful steps, especially during the past three years, according to distinct strategic plans that included all aspects needed by its employees.

The university deals with health affairs, whether with regard to medical, technical, treatment, or construction equipment, or the administrative and medical specialized competencies and expertise, bearing in mind that there are work and efforts being made during this period in which we live to obtain all health and preventive care data.

And that was under the directives and follow-up of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Suleiman Aba Al-Khail, and the interest of the employees of the facility.

You mentioned that the medical services at the university involve all relevant parties to raise the health level of all university employees and their families, by providing leadership in the field of health, medical education and patient safety through an integrated work system. What is the vision and mission that you aspire to achieve?

We seek excellence in patient care at the national level, by building an integrated health system, creating an educational environment that guarantees patient safety and rights, and participating in medical research to enhance knowledge and health.

Our mission is to provide high quality primary health services to university employees and to spread a culture of health awareness to the community around us.

Every health facility has multiple goals that its employees seek to achieve. What are your most important goals?

We aim to have specialized medical colleges and supporting medical sciences at the highest levels and according to the highest international quality standards, and to establish a pioneering community hospital in the field of health care based on the foundations of quality and performance in terms of construction and operation in terms of equipment and cadres, preparing a regulatory guide for workflow procedures and policies that clarifies The organizational structure, goals, links and tasks for each unit in the medical services, attracting highly qualified human resources in all medical support and administrative fields, developing human resources in all fields, providing modern high-quality equipment and training on its use, expanding specializations according to needs.

We also seek to implement the unified digital electronic transaction system for the patient in all areas of medical services, expand and support health education programs according to the needs, provide the opportunity to train male and female students in the various specializations available in the center, as well as conduct studies and research in various medical fields in order to identify Problems and the development of medical services based on what studies recommend.

What are the most important clinics available at the medical services at the present time?

The Medical Services Department is keen to provide clinics in all specialties to provide the best treatment service according to the possibility of the complex, where the following clinics are available: family medicine, general medicine, chronic diseases, endocrinology (children - adults), digestive diseases, rheumatic diseases, children, women and obstetrics, Dermatology, brain and nerves (children - adults), respiratory diseases (children - adults), cardiovascular diseases (children - adults), orthopedics, dentistry, eyes, general surgery, vascular surgery

Pediatric surgery, plastic surgery and a psychiatric clinic, and there are equipments to convert it to the Psychological and Neurosciences Unit, in addition to the Social Service and Health Education Clinic (the women’s section), the Physiotherapy Unit, optics and LASIK. A special anti-smoking program is being implemented.

What are the procedures followed to benefit from the center's services?

The department receives patients suffering from chronic diseases (asthma - pressure - diabetes) in addition to cases of high fever for adults and children, cases of bone fractures, cases of convulsions and epilepsy.

How many returns of the center during the past year?

The number of visitors to the medical services complex in both departments reached during the year 1437 AH

175,000 visits were recorded by the medical services and its branches, and the women’s section had more than 2% more visits than last year.

Does the center provide medicines for patients or other services such as x-rays and tests?

The Pharmaceutical Care Department provides all the necessary medicines for sick cases, and a re-disbursement service has been added to the chronic diseases clinic’s auditors.

Radiology Department The department has been provided with modern devices and equipment with the latest international specifications necessary for diagnostic and therapeutic services, including: panoramic x-rays, CT scans, MRIs, X-rays, osteoporosis scans, ultrasound scans for pregnant women in the gynecology department, and general ultrasounds.

The laboratory department has updated the main devices, as there are devices that perform all chemical and hormone analyzes, diagnose virus infections, tumor markers, complete blood image analysis, and analyze blood salts.

The rental value of this class is 1125 riyal per semester, in addition to a payment of 500 Riyals deposit on the room that will be returned to the student after his evacuation of the room.

Section (1): grants students live free, as stated in the Regulations of the housing from the ministry.

Section (2): the rental value per semester is 675 riyal, in addition to a payment of 500 riyals deposit on the apartment that will be returned to the student after his evacuation of the housing.

Anyone wants to dwell in the university housing has to pay 6000  riyals for the apartment each year Or he can pay 3000 riyals for half a year, with paying also 500 riyals in the form of insurance that will be returned when he evacuates the housing without damages. Also he has to pay the estimated value for services rendered to him like water, electricity, telephone and other services that are determined by the university.

B) Housing for married students:

These homes are allocated to house married students in order to create the right atmosphere for them and to inspire the spirit of peace of mind at them through the presence of their families, which leads them to achieve the goal that they came for which is the educational attainment of religious Sciences, Arabic and other sciences, also to be a Goodwill Ambassador and a facade to his country.

Among the goals of these houses also is to achieve understanding and harmony among the students and families from different nationalities and countries.

IMSIU provides the student with comfort campus residences that are the safe, secure, and healthy environment. The Deanship of Student Affairs oversees (through specialists such as security, housing and restaurant supervisors) students’ residences and organizes sports, social, cultural events throughout the academic year. The university provides students’ residences with appropriate facilities for athletes, private study, prayers, car parking, restaurants, cafeteria, and medical services. IMSIU subsidize meals for students at the cafeterias. Apart from the students’ cafeterias, you find many restaurants and cafés around the main campus where students like to go and meals and snacks are relatively cheap.

IMSIU takes care of students with a physical and/or psychical impairment and a team helps in offers counselling and information about studying and student life.

Fees

Studying at IMSIU is free of charge and students do not have to pay any fees for regular education BA, MA and PhD. However, there are tuition fees for additional programs that are offered to internal and external students who usually take evening classes due to their circumstances.
