Introduction

Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 8 or Global Goal 8) refers to Decent Work and Economic Growth the aim of SDG8 IS promote sustained economic growth, higher levels of productivity and technological innovation. Encouraging entrepreneurship and job creation are key to this, as are effective measures to eradicate forced labour, slavery and human trafficking. With these targets in mind, the goal is to achieve full and productive employment, and decent work, for all women and men by 2030.

The strategic goal of the SDG 8 team is to engage a global community of researchers and practitioners to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all. This is done by applied action research and policy interaction that focus on solutions to growth- and work-related challenges through collaboration among researchers and practitioners in local and global contexts.

The ambition is to mobilize academic work and policy interaction in support of sustainable economic growth with good conditions for employees. In particular, the focal areas will be related to the SDG 8 targets, i.e., economic growth, resource efficiency, innovation, work environment and labour markets, and sustainable tourism.

Saudi Arabia enjoys a strong and strong economy due to its unique geographic location, which provides easy access to export markets. The Kingdom is ranked first in the world in oil reserves, production and export, with 25% of total world oil reserves. The approval of His Excellency the President of Al-Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed bin Salem Al-Ameri, was issued to promote 507 male and female employees at the university to the ranks of the tenth and below in the minutes issued on 1445/1/14 AH.

The Dean of Human Resources, Prof. Dr. Khalid bin Abdul Karim Al-Basir, congratulated all the promoters, wishing them success in serving their religion, country, and rulers.

The Skills Development Center at the University Agency for Institutional Development and Social Responsibility held a training course - remotely - entitled (Conflict Management in the Work Environment) on Wednesday 1445/3/19 AH corresponding to 2023/10/4 AD, which targets administrators from colleges and units at the university and was presented by His Excellency Prof. Dr. Safaa Mahmoud Abdel Halim, Professor at the Faculty of Languages and Translation, where the number of trainees attended (550) trainees.

 The course aimed to: Provide participants with knowledge, skills and positive attitudes that enable them to manage disputes in the work environment efficiently and effectively in order to create a supportive work environment, to ensure work success and improve job performance, as well as to identify the description of the stages of development of the dispute and knowledge of the approach of Islamic thought in managing it.

 After the end of the course, the Skills Development Center expects that participants will be able to identify the sources and levels of disagreement in the work environment and how to deal with them, the ability to discuss important skills in conflict management, identify the power of influencing skills in conflict management, identify patterns of individuals in disagreement, and discuss some conflict management policies and how to choose among them and implement them according to the Blake and Morten model.

The Kingdom celebrates the National Day of its Unification, which falls on September 23 of each year, and on this cherished occasion, a number of university employees and students expressed their feelings, which are overflowing with love and loyalty to this great country.
