Participating in international collaboration on gathering or measuring data for the SDGs

Al-Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University signed a memorandum of understanding with the Prince Sultan Aviation Academy on Monday 1444/10/25 AH at the university's headquarters, and the university was represented in the signing ceremony by Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Saghir, Vice President for Business Development and Investment, and the Academy was represented by its CEO, Captain Ismail bin Salman Al-Kishi.

 Through the memorandum, the university seeks to benefit from the human expertise and capabilities available between the two parties, and to coordinate efforts and integration in order to achieve their common goals in order to achieve the Saudi Vision 2030, and the memorandum aims to conduct administrative, financial, technical and legal consultations according to the needs of both parties, and cooperation in the field of exchanging information, whether related to research and studies related to the subject of the memorandum, and organizing joint activities that the two parties agree on their topics and dates of organization, and cooperation in the field of logistics and scientific services and benefit from what The two parties have human cadres and other resources, which helps in achieving the goals of both parties, in addition to a number of common goals that serve both sides.

 The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Sulaiman bin Abdullah Al-Saghir, Dean of Prince Naif Institute for Research and Consulting Services, Dr. Meshaal Khalil Faraj, Acting Legal Advisor, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Qarni, CEO of the University Investment Fund, and AASTMT officials, Mr. Khaled Al-Shubaily, and Mr.Fahd Al-Qadi.


In coordination with the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training of Djibouti, the Director of the Islamic Institute in Djibouti, Dr. Khaled Al-Najmi, held this morning 1444/10/25 AH, a meeting at the headquarters of the university departments of the Islamic Institute in Djibouti with the directors of recognized Arab schools in Djibouti for the year 2023

The meeting was attended by the Director General of Private Education and Organizations at the Ministry, Mr. Abdullah Mahmoud Jama, the Head of the Arab Private Education Authority, Mr. Mohamed Sheikh Moussa, the Undersecretary of the General Department, Ali Asiri, and a number of Arab schools in the Djiboutian capital.During the meeting, a number of topics of interest to the Institute were discussed, foremost of which is the scholarship of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia provided to Djiboutian students to study in Saudi universities through the "Study" platform in Saudi Arabia.

 On Thursday, the twenty-ninth of the month of Safar 1445 AH, corresponding to September 13, 2023 AD, at the Conference Building at the Institute's headquarters.

 The MoU aims to enhance joint cooperation between the two parties in the field of teaching English, exchanging ideas and experiences and presenting them to entities, companies, institutions and all segments of society. And to benefit from the capabilities and cadres of both parties to implement educational and training projects, with the capabilities and expertise available to both parties, and in an effort to exchange experiences in the areas of joint cooperation in a way that contributes to achieving the strategic objectives of the two sides. It contributes to achieving the Saudi Vision 2030.

 The signing of the memorandum was attended by His Excellency Dr. Sulaiman bin Abdullah Al-Saghir, Dean of Prince Naif Institute for Research and Consulting Services, and from the second party:

Al- Imam University undergoes international agreements with international universities to collect data for the SDGs and support the university’s achievements from different fields, also these agreements aim to develop the academic, scientific and cultural projects..

In furtherance with the untiring efforts paid by Al-Imam University to strengthen its academic bonds with world-class universities, Dr. Muhammad Al-Alaam, Vice-Rector for Knowledge Exchange and International Communications, has inked recently a bold academic agreement with Prof. Dr. Richard R. Flores, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at University of Texas at Austin, United States of America.

In significance with the agreement, Dr. Al-Alaam pointed out that, it is the first step for comprehensive collaboration together on exchanging students on English language at University of Texas at Austin. “The target behind the agreement is entirely academical, but Al-Imam University is additionally aims to provide its students with an opportunity to interact with other cultures and learn from other communities”, added he.

Its worth to mention that, H.E. Prof. Dr. Suliman Aba Al-Khail, Rector of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, and a number of dignitaries and senior officials has attended the signature ceremony.​

Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University has endorsed a  memorandum of understanding with Texas University in Austin. The purpose of such an MOU is to strengthen  the cooperative educational and research programs between the two universities and students' short-term exchange programs.

The vice president for knowledge exchange and international communication, Dr.Mohammed Al-Alam, and Prof. Richard Flores from Texas University at Austin have signed the MOU. This event was honored by the presence of University's President Prof. Suleiman  Abalkhail as part of the university's participation in the fourth IECHE.

Dr.Al-Alam  said that this MOU is considered as a first step for a number of service contracts; which aim to support  students from the College of Languages and Translation through their enrolling in seven-months extensive English programs in Texas University at Austin. This agreement is conditioned upon mutual transference of courses and specifications. Thus, whether one student fails or passes, it will be counted in his eventual GPA. Dr. Al-Alam has mentioned that the major goal of sending students is to improve their English. Yet, other goals include training students to deal with  people of different cultural and religious backgrounds as well as respect them.

Dr.Al-Alam  thanked the President of the University for supporting, caring, and providing ways to achieve success. The signing ceremony was also honored by the presence of the Vice-Presidency for Community Service and Information Technology Dr. Fozan Ibn Abdulrhman Alfozan and the General  Director of International Cooperation Administration, Mr. Ali Ibn Saqr Al Rumaih.

On Tuesday morning, 1-2-1438 AH, The Vice-President of Knowledge Exchange and International Communication, Dr. Mohammed S. Al-Alam, had received at his office the Rector of Almadinah International University in Malaysia, H.E. Professor Mohammed Al-Tamimi and the accompanied members along with the presence of Vice-Rector for Community Service and Information Technology, Dr. Abdulrahman A. Al-Sughayer and the Dean of Information Technology Deanship, Dr. Waleed Abdulaziz Al-Jandal.

Dr. Al-Alam welcomed the guest and remarked that the university receives support and care from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, H.R.H. Crown Prince Muhammad bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, and H.R.H. Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz. In addition, both parties discussed an execution of a Memorandum of Understanding.

 From the other Side, Professor Mohammed Khalifah Al-Tamimi thanked Dr. Al-Alam for the pleasant reception and hospitality and added that Almadinah International University is honored to cooperate with such a distinctive university.

On Monday, the 21st  of Shaaban, 1436 AH, Dr. Muhammed Al-Alam, the Vice-President for Knowledge Exchange and International Communication, signed a MoA with Professor Ahmed Rafi b. Mohammed Eshaq, the Vice-President of Multimedia University in Malaysia (MMU). The purpose of the MoA is to establish a technical center, which specializes in multimedia research inside the Malaysian campus.

Dr. Al-Alam pointed out that this was not the first agreement between the two parties. He mentioned that he had made a visit to the MMU, and admired the development of the university.  He added that both countries have a steadfast relationship and they share many interests, not just politically and economically, but also scientifically.

Dr. Al-Alam thanked the Vice-President of the MMU and his delegation, Dr. Abdullah Al-razeen, the CEO of Al-Imam Investment Fund and resources, and Dr. Waleed Al-jandal, Head of the Technical Center in the Investment Fund, and the Dean of Information Technology.

On his turn, The Vice-President of the MMU praised the strong relationship between the two parties. He expressed gratitude to Al-Imam University for the trust, and he insured that this center will not only benefit both countries, but also it will go beyond and be for the usefulness of the whole Islamic World.

The Malaysian delegation had a tour inside the campus, which included the Planetarium, and the museum of the History of Arabic and Islamic Sciences.

Dr. Muhammed Al-Alam, the Vice-President for Knowledge Exchange and International Communication, signed three collaborative agreements with three international academic institutions. These institutions were Sun Yat-sen University in China, Macquarie University in Australia, and the International Language Center in China. The three agreements were signed on the 17th April 2015 as a part of Al-Imam University activities during the 6th International Exhibition & Conference on Higher Education held in Riyadh. These decisions were taken in order to reinforce the academic collaboration in education and in research, and to enhance all interests that both parties share in common in the academic field.

Dr. Muhammad Said Al-Alam, Vice-Rector of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University for International Communication and Knowledge Exchange, has signed on the last day three cooperation agreements with Sun Yat-sen University, People's Republic of China, Macquarie University, Commonwealth of Australia, and International Language Centre, People's Republic of China.

The sealed agreements has clinched in line with the activities of Al-Imam University at Sixth Saudi International Exhibition & Conference on Higher Education "IECHE", with a target of strengthen the cooperation ties with oversea counterparts.

​The booth of Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, as represented by the Vice-Presidency for Knowledge Exchange and International Communication, hosted a number of delegations and international representatives of a number of universities who have attended "the fourth Annual International Exhibition and Conference on Higher Education" during the period 6-9/6/1434 AH. They were received by the Vice-President for Knowledge Exchange and International Communication, Dr. Mohammad Al-Alam, the General  Director of International Cooperation Administration, Mr. Ali Al-Rumaih, the Supervisor of the Vice-Presidency Office, Mr. Khaleel Al-Maliki, Advisor of Knowledge Exchange Program, Mr. Ahmad Alahmary as well as other members from the academic and administrative teams at the Vice-Presidency.

 Among the distinguished visitors was the delegation from Regina University from Canada including the Dean of the College of Business Administration, Dr. Andrew Gaudes and the Student Services and Study Abroad Administrator, Haroon Chaundhry . Possible cooperation between the two sides was discussed during the meeting, especially in areas of administration, accounting, business administration, education, and petroleum engineering.

 A number of delegates from outstanding Canadian Universities, such as Montreal university, Algoma University, and Stanford Research Institute visited the booth of Imam University and they discussed the exchange of faculty members and students and the activation of joint research programs in addition to discussing the possibility of making programs, symposia, and seminars on Arabic language and Islamic economics.

On the last days, Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) were inked a memorandum of agreement "MOA" in the academic, training and research fields of common interest, points out that Dr. Mohammad Saeed Al-Alam, Vice-Rector of Imam University for Knowledge Exchange and International Collaboration, in statements recently.

Shedding more lights on the inked MOA, Dr. Al-Alam clarified that, OIC have chosen Imam University as it prominent in care of knowledge, creativity and moral values through carrying out variety distinguishing activities in education, learning, training, academic research and community services. As well, Imam University often offers students' needs in Fiqh, sharia, economic, medicine, computer sciences, Arabic language and media areas.

Additionally, Dr. Al-Alam has noted that, the inked agreement comes within the framework of cooperation and partnership programs aimed at following up the implementation of the resolutions and recommendations of the Islamic Summit, the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, and sectoral ministerial meetings and in fulfilment of the objectives of the Ten-year Program of Action OIC-2025.

The main items of the agreement include joint efforts of the two parties to support Sawt Al-Hikmah 'Voice of Wisdom' Centre in the General Secretariat as one of the OIC channels to combat deviant thought, extremism and Islamophobia. The two sides will organize exhibitions, seminars and specialized intellectual conferences in Islamic countries and the West to convey the true message of Islam based on solidarity, tolerance, openness, rejection of extremism, extremism, and violence and terrorism. They will also highlight the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as one of the most prominent OIC Member States in this field.

The two sides also agreed to coordinate on grants for the students of the OIC Member States, implementation of joint projects in the fields of Islamic and economic studies and research, and promoting the status of Arabic language as one of the OIC three official languages and empowering its learners based on the experience of the University in this area.

​​​​​​​​​​​Dr. Mohammed bin Said Al-Alam, the Vice-President for Knowledge Exchange and International Communications,  has signed a memorandum of understanding with Dr. Borososilo, Director-General of Sharia Courts Authority of the Supreme Court of Republic of Indonesia, at the Islamic and Arabic Sciences Institute in Jakarta.

In his speech, Dr. Alalm pointed out that the Government of Saudi Arabia often seeks to build bridges of cooperation with Muslims around the world and in various areas. He stressed that Al-Imam University strives to achieve the aspirations of Saudi Government through its role as a leading Islamic university.

Dr. Al-Alam clarified that the agreement includes the exchange of judicial Consulting and expertise in qualifying judges. It also includes holding courses and training in the field of Islamic judiciary inboth countries, as well as cooperation in providing training courses in the field of Sharia judiciary and human resource development.

Prof. Dr. Suliman Aba Al-Khail, Rector of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, and who doubles as Pro-Chancellor of International Islamic University in Islamabad "IIUI", Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, representing by its Deanship of Information Technology and Deanship of Institutes Affairs Abroad, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and Collaboration Agreement with IIUI.

In statements after the signature ceremony, H.E. the university rector has stated that, the two-inked agreements will actually achieving the goals pursued by both universities. He praised the efforts of Dr. Ahmad Ad-Drawish, President of IIUI, in rendering success to IIUI activities.

From his part, Dr. Ad-Drawish has thanked H.E. Prof. Dr. Suliman Aba Al-Khail, Rector of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, for his staunch efforts and support to all activities and programs of IIUI. He revealed that, the two-inked agreements dealing with technology aspects, through benefiting from the experience of Al-Imam University and training, as well as advantaging from the experiences of Deanship of Institutes Affairs Abroad in teaching Arabic language to non-native speakers. He extended his thanks to both Dr. Waleed Al-Jandal, Dean of Deanship of Information Technology, and Dr. Abdullah Al-Salamy, Dean of Deanship of Institutes Affairs Abroad.

Dr. Waleed Al-Jandal, Dean of Deanship of Information Technology, pointed out that, the inked agreement with his deanship included providing some technical consultations and studies to implement the internet portal and the infrastructure of IIUI, as well as benefiting from the qualified officers of his administration. In similar vein, Dr. Abdullah Al-Salamy, Dean of Deanship of Institutes Affairs Abroad, has stated that, the inked MoU is aims to exchange experiences and faculty members and scholarships and programs between Al-Imam University and IIUI.

His Excellency Dr. Suliman Aba Al-Khail, Rector of Al-Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, member of the Council of Senior Islamic Scholars (Ulema), received the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, to sign a memorandum of cooperation to get the benefit from the university’s scientific and research cadres and experiences in the moderate principles of Islam. The Rector welcomed the Secretary General in the university, pointing out that signing this memorandum of cooperation is embedded in the reinforcement of Islamic and national values as well as accomplishing governors’ aspiration, under the leadership of the custodian of the Tow Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and his Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz. He indicated that in the meantime we need collaboration to demonstrate Islamic moderate principles, which is far from hyperbole and terrorism, and called to take serious steps to accomplish governors’ aspiration through honest and hard work. In addition, his excellency emphasized that the university is one of the first educational institutions that aimed to spread the moderate principles of Islam and tried to attain a well-established approach to let the whole world know that Islam is the religion of justice and mercy.  He added that the memorandum between the university and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has important goals and a global mission.

Moreover, his Excellency indicated that the Secretary General has chosen Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University to sign this agreement for it contains all the important tools and branches that may help the organization to perfectly perform its task and achieve its mission. The benefits of this agreement can be summarized as follow: the university is international, national, social and classical and that are all what the Organization needs. In addition, it contains more than 16 institutes for Arabic and Islamic sciences, the university also presides the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW), which includes 316 universities around the world, it also contains deanship of E-learning and Distance Education which serves more than 80 thousand enrolled students. Besides, the university is one of the most important academic institutions which extremely contributes to the formulation of Islamic vision and is also one of the largest universities in Saudi Arabia in the incubation of scholarship students with more than 8,000 students from 140 countries. Moreover, the university has an international center for dialogue, which is King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Centre for Contemporary Islamic Studies and Civilization Dialogue. It also contains the Supreme Jurisdiction Institute. Hence, the university puts all its units and capabilities to get the greatest benefit from this memorandum.

From his side, Dr. Al-Othaimeen thanked the Leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for hosting the organization which serves all Muslims around the globe. He also praised Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University and appreciated the efforts of its rector to sign the memorandum which promotes the values of the tolerant Islamic religion. Additionally, Dr. Al-Othaimeen stated that the memorandum of cooperation aims to support the organization with expertise and studies in the Center for Dialogue, Peace and Understanding (CDPU), Sawt Al-Hikma (The Voice of Wisdom) which works to face terrorism as well as to develop a credible discourse to delegitimize radical discourse and to highlight the true message of Islam through social media and internet. 

The general responsibility of the Center is to plan and carry out activities that contribute to the development of intellectual and ideological foundations to promote respect for diversity, values of moderation, tolerance, peaceful coexistence and building bridges with other cultures and civilizations. He also pointed out that the memorandum aims at benefiting from the university's expertise in spreading Arabic language and teaching it to non-native speakers, taking advantage of the university's experiences in the so-called fear of Islam, and benefiting from students of educational scholarships. In conclusion, Dr. Al-Othaimeen indicated that The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is the second largest inter-governmental organization after the United Nations with a membership of 57 states spread over four continents. 

The Organization is the collective voice of the Muslim world. It endeavors to safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim world and to promote international peace and harmony. The Organization has the singular honor to galvanize the Ummah into a unified body and have actively represented the Muslims by espousing all causes close to the hearts of over 1.5 billion Muslims around the world. The Organization has consultative and cooperative relations with the UN and other inter-governmental organizations to protect the vital interests of the Muslims and to work for the settlement of conflicts and disputes involving member states. In safeguarding the true values of Islam and the Muslims, the organization has taken various steps to remove misperceptions and has strongly advocated elimination of discrimination against Muslims in all forms and manifestations.

Under the patronage of His Excellency the President of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, Prof. Ahmed bin Salem Al-Amri His Excellency the Vice Rector for Planning, Development and Quality, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Shiddi, signed an introductory memorandum with the University of Exeter and the  University of Strathclyde Glasgow.

This is on the sidelines of the International Conference and Exhibition for Education 2022, which will be held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, and organized by the Ministry of Education during the period from 7 to 10 Shawwal 1443 AH (8-11 May 2022 AD), with the participation of ministers and education experts and more than 260 international and local universities and destinations Education from 23 countries around the world.

The two cooperation agreements aim at academic exchange, student and faculty exchange, in addition to developing education programs and joint projects, cooperating in education and training opportunities, as well as supervising master's and doctoral theses and scholarships. 

His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Salem Al-Amiri, and a number of university officials met with His Excellency Professor Sir Steve Smith, the British Prime Minister’s Special Representative for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Education, and a number of British university directors and gave a presentation on the university and its strategic plan.

Al-Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University has been participating in international forums and exhibitions, especially those discussing higher education topics and the role of universities in the development process. In the presence of MR. Mustafa bin Ibrahim Al-Mubarak, the Saudi Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Mohammed bin Said Al-Alam, Vice-president of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University for Knowledge Exchange and International Communications, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Dr. Bambang Idgdo, Vice-Rector of University of Muhammadiyah in Malang. The signing ceremony held at The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta, Kuningan.

A number of dignitaries from both universities attended the signing ceremony, including Dr. Abdullah Al-Salami- the Dean of Institute Affairs Abroad, and Dr. Khaled Al-Daham- the Dean of Islamic and Arabic Sciences Institute in Indonesia, and a group of faculty members.

It is noteworthy that The signed MoU was based on signed agreements between the Government of Saudi Arabia and the Government of Indonesia in areas of scientific cooperation and teaching of  Arabic language.  The MoU is aimed to promote the relationship between Al-Imam University and University of Muhammadiyah in Malang.
