The team of female students of the College of Computer and Information Sciences at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University won the first place in the NEOM Artificial Intelligence Challenge, which is one of the initiatives of the World Summit on Artificial Intelligence that was dedicated to Saudi university students in coordination with the Ministry of Education and partnership with NEOM and SDAYA.
Approximately 400 male and female students at various university levels from 39 Saudi universities participated in the challenge, who contributed to strengthening the city of the future "NEOM" with innovations aimed at creating a sustainable environment in three vital areas that represent the challenge paths: energy, entertainment, and transportation, where the team was crowned in the center The first is about the transportation path of the “Barq” project, which is based on the automated drone system for delivery services, which is based on a decentralized algorithm for distributing tasks.
The team made up of university students are: Al-Reem Al-Mukhraj, a master’s student in computer science at the university and a bachelor’s graduate from it. Her graduation project is in the Bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence on building algorithms and a simulation environment for search and rescue drones, and Munira Al-Yahya, a recent graduate with first honors She is from the Department of Computer Science at the university and is currently working as an artificial intelligence developer in a control company.
