In the side lines of the efforts of Al-Imam University Vice-Rectorate for Planning, Development, and Quality in widening its awareness societal activities, especially in the area of narcotic drugs control, the Saudi Centre for Narcotic Drugs Control and Psychotropic Substances Studies “Haseen” has arranged on the last days an awareness session at the Cultural Centre of Riyadh Passports Institute.
The awareness session, which has last for nearly four full hours, has focused on the preventive awareness of the drugs and narcotics, and to let the participants being familiar about the types of drugs and the psychotropic substances. It also focused on enlightening participants about the wrong practices and behaviours at scholarship period, and on introducing them about the symptoms of addiction and the related regulations and laws of narcotics control and the associated legal penalties.
In a similar vein, the awareness session has targeted on enlightening the participants about the drugs and the psychotropic substances and their affections to the effects of drugs on neurons and brain systems, signs of abuse, and the health damage caused by drug abuse, and the mental illness and family damage related to rewarding drugs.
In coincidence with the awareness session, Brigadier General Khaled Al-Ziadi has praised the efforts and contributions of the centre in spreading awareness and enlightenment about drugs and narcotics control.
His Excellency the Director of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, a member of the Council of Senior Scholars, Sheikh Prof. Dr. Sulaiman bin Abdullah Aba Al-Khail, received in his office on Tuesday 1/8/1439 AH the Ambassador of the State of Sri Lanka to the Kingdom, Ambassador Muhammad Azmi, in the presence of the University’s Vice Dean for Knowledge Exchange and International Communication, Dr. Muhammad bin Saeed Al-Alam and a number of university officials.

His Excellency the Director explained that the Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University is an ancient university that carries the message of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and is based on framing and consolidating the curriculum of the Sunnis and the community, and calls for it through its units, colleges, institutes, departments, and research chairs, whether inside or outside the Kingdom, and it is based on what it is based on. His Excellency thanked the Ambassador of the State of Sri Lanka for his keenness to follow up on his country's students, and Al-Imam University hosts 27 students from Sri Lanka, indicating that the university looks forward to increasing the number of students from the distinguished people of Sri Lanka who study at the university so that they contribute to building their country, with attention to the intellectual aspect based on Moderate moderation far from extremism and extremism, and keenness to invest this grant for the benefit of them and their country.

The Vice Rector for Knowledge Exchange and International Communication, Dr. Muhammad bin Saeed, indicated that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation signed with Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University on Sunday 23/6/1439 AH; A memorandum of cooperation between the two sides in the academic, training and research fields of common interest.
Dr. Al-Alam confirmed that the organization chose Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University as it is specialized in fostering knowledge, creativity and moral values by carrying out distinguished qualitative activities in the field of education, learning, training, scientific research and community service, and provides the needs of students in the fields of Islamic jurisprudence, economics, medicine, computer specializations and Arabic language. He pointed out that the memorandum comes within the framework of cooperation and partnership programs aimed at following up on the implementation of the decisions and recommendations of the Islamic Summit, the Council of Foreign Ministers and sectoral ministerial meetings, and in implementation of the requirements of the ten-year program of the organization 2025. These programs include the exchange of students, researchers and trainees and reducing the deficit in the bodies University teaching, distance education, joint research projects, training facilities, professional and specialized training courses in response to the specific needs of Member States.
