Al-Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, represented by the Deanship of Library Affairs at the Tunis International Book Fair 2023, participates in a number of qualitative publications in various university disciplines, and the Deanship seeks, through the university's participation, to highlight the distinguished role of the university in the field of scientific publishing, and to enhance its leading position in such cultural forums.

 The Dean of Library Affairs, Prof. Dr. Maha bint Dakhil Allah Al-Khathami, explained that the university's participation, represented by the Deanship, in the Tunis International Book Fair 2023 comes within the framework of the directives of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed bin Salem Al-Ameri, and his continuous support for the Deanship in representing the university in local and international book fairs, by displaying and marketing the university's scientific product in all disciplines and enhancing its position.

 Prof. Dr. Al-Khathami stressed the keenness of the Deanship of Library Affairs to enrich the Kingdom's pavilion participating in the exhibition with the university's scientific product, which increases the attendance and interaction of visitors to the exhibition. The Dean of Library Affairs, Prof. Dr. Al-Khathami, expressed her thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the President of the University for his support and encouragement to the Deanship in all its activities and programs and its participation to represent the university in a way that reflects its distinguished image in scientific publishing, and the Dean of Library Affairs thanked the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Tamim, for his continuous follow-up and touching the needs of the Deanship in its local and international participations.

In response to the World Archives Day, the Deanship of Library Affairs at King Abdullah Women's City held a corner to celebrate the World Archives Day, which is held internationally on the ninth of June every year, because the archive represents a very important position that requires keenness to develop it, expand its horizons, as well as support it with modern technologies to accommodate the large amount of information and documents.

Al-Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, represented by the Deanship of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and in cooperation with Noon Company, organized the summer camp for e-commerce, during the period 16-30 Dhu al-Hijjah 1444 AH corresponding to 4-18 July 2023 AD, and the camp aimed to identify e-commerce, and develop the skills required in the labor market, and it also included a set of activities, specialized meetings and field visits, as the camp was launched at the headquarters of the Imam University Business Incubator (The Imam Cloud), by providing a comprehensive and detailed introductory meeting about E-commerce.

His Excellency stressed that this high-level conference discusses an academic topic and a humanitarian issue that has a renewed presence locally, regionally and globally as an issue with cultural, social and economic dimensions, which poses a major challenge to many development models related to the future of sustainable development, its goals and objectives, especially in this era of knowledge growing dimensions and repercussions, which requires all of us to unify academic efforts, achieve effective partnerships in the scientific and research fields, and promote integrated work in strategic planning tracks to meet with the needs of today's societies and tomorrow's generations.

 His Excellency added that one of the most important pivotal issues that we are experiencing now in higher education institutions in light of the rapid changes the world is witnessing, and the unprecedented successive developments that have occurred in all fields, is the issue of (sustainable development) and ensuring the achievement of its goals and objectives, as a key axis of its educational system, academic and research programs, and its enrichment and training services, and therefore this issue requires us to continuously study, serious research, and objective review of its concepts and social dimensions, and its economic repercussions.

 His Excellency pointed out that universities carry out their duties effectively and efficiently, as they are one of the most important national institutions entrusted with performing a fundamental task in serving the community, and actively contributing to achieving sustainable development goals and their dimensions through their knowledge tools, academic programs, development initiatives, and qualitative opportunities, whether in (quality of education), (research and innovation) or (human capital development), and from this point of view, and inspired by this importance, activating partnerships and agreements, and building meaningful strategic relations with leading regional and international universities, Advanced research centers have become an imperative and an extreme necessity imposed by the nature of the stage and the requirements of development, through which we exchange our knowledge and experiences, define our goals and priorities, share our roles and responsibilities, enhance our integrated work, and invest all our efforts and capabilities available, to increase our efficiency and effectiveness in achieving our common goals and interests in the areas of sustainable development.

The university has also been interested in its societal responsibilities and serving humanity by continuously contributing to the dissemination of knowledge and education outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and helping countries in their development and raising the quality of education through its institutes in the continents of Africa and Asia for more than (40) forty years, and the university has been keen to support scientific research activities and innovation programs that are closely related to sustainable development, in addition to holding research partnerships with relevant government agencies; and international partnerships with universities and researchers to exchange Ideas, production of innovations, and increasing joint scientific publishing in the fields of sustainable development in accordance with national aspirations for research and innovation.

 His Excellency explained that Imam University has implemented a special program to support and incubate university startups under the name of (Imam Cloud), which embraced (25) twenty-five projects during 2022, in addition to spreading the culture of entrepreneurship and economic and human development through many different courses, forums and workshops in this field, as well as participating in organizing and sponsoring some conferences on education and sustainable development, as well as the university's commitment to adopting policies and procedures that ensure the observance of sustainable development goals and their achievement in the fields Scientific, research and community service, as well as in the administrative, operational, technical and technical aspects, which confirms the university's interest in energy conservation projects, and working to sustain the Green University project to raise the quality of life in the university city.

 He pointed out that these efforts have borne fruit - praise be to God - in the fields of sustainable development in the university's achievement of outstanding results and high indicators in international classifications related to sustainable development goals, the most important of which is the impact ranking (Impact Ranking) of the Times World Ranking, where the university was able to achieve all seventeen (17) goals, and to be among the list of the best (200) two hundred international universities in (7) seven different sustainable development goals, which confirms the university's firm commitment to addressing some of the most pressing challenges in In light of these achievements, it is worth mentioning some of the university's projects and initiatives that contributed to achieving this advanced classification in achieving the sustainable development goals.

 His Excellency explained that Imam University initiated in the first goal (poverty eradication) to enable low-income students to complete their education through scholarship programs and financial aid, whether provided by the university directly or through its partnerships with donor companies and institutions, in addition to the free educational programs provided by the university's institutes outside the Kingdom, and the additional financial support it includes for students to help them bear the burdens and costs of studying, and the university is committed to providing support and care services to its students, such as consultations. Academic, career guidance, and skill guidance to help them succeed and move to the labor market efficiently and competently.

 His Excellency pointed out that Imam University sought in the third goal of (good health and well-being) to build effective partnerships with local health institutions, and a number of partnerships with the relevant authorities, and the university also established a special unit for psychological care and social care for university employees and students to help them deal with the pressures of university life and personal challenges, which provides its services continuously in person or remotely while preserving the privacy of the beneficiaries, and the university has adopted an integrated system of knowledge, awareness and advisory programs.  He pointed to the university's commitment to the quality of education through its comprehensive and diverse academic programs, which comply with national and international educational standards, and have academic accreditation from national and international accreditation organizations for existing programs, in addition to its focus on research and innovation, and contribute to the generation of new knowledge and progress in various disciplines, which strengthened the university's position and reputation as a center of academic excellence, as well as global cooperation with prestigious institutions and universities around the world, and strengthening these partnerships through knowledge exchange, Research integration, academic collaboration, cultural understanding, and enrichment of the educational experience for students and faculty alike, the university has also sought to provide high-quality inclusive education for all by creating an attractive and adapted learning environment that accommodates students with special needs, ensuring that everyone has equal access to and benefit from quality education, as well as active community participation through educational outreach programs, workshops and initiatives that promote lifelong learning and educational progress.

 Dr. Al-Ameri stressed that Imam University has made great efforts in the fifth goal (gender equality) to empower women and enhance their role through a wide range of initiatives, which ensure equal opportunities and access to distinguished education for students in a wide range of academic disciplines, whether humanitarian, scientific or health, and enable them to continue their higher education in various fields, as well as involving them in events, events and activities witnessed by the university, and the university is proud of its educational and administrative staff who have shown Creativity in education, excellence in scientific research, and success in leadership positions at the university, the university also emphasizes raising community awareness of this goal through holding many workshops and conferences dealing with gender equality, including the recent conference on women's empowerment and their developmental role, which received the participation of more than 100 researchers.

 Dr. Al-Ameri pointed out that Imam University realized in the sixteenth goal, which stipulates (peace, justice and strong institutions) since its inception that these principles are essential things on which the pillar of comprehensive development and the stability of society is based, and therefore it took the initiative to achieve this goal by strengthening the rule of law, and its keenness to excel in its scientific studies, and legal programs, which prepare graduates cognitively, and qualify them skillfully to contribute to achieving justice, and the university has also given research and studies in the field of peace, justice and governance. Due to the university's keenness to contribute to building strong institutions and responsible leaders, the university has sought to develop its employees by promoting the principle of ethical leadership, and instilling its organizational values and basic principles in them.

 His Excellency indicated that Imam University, within the framework of its endeavor to achieve the seventeenth goal, which emphasizes (partnerships to achieve the goals), took the initiative to build bridges of local, regional and international cooperation with counterpart universities through partnerships with universities, research institutions and international organizations, which facilitate the exchange of knowledge, support joint research initiatives, and enhance international academic opportunities for students and faculty members. The university also developed the research, innovation and entrepreneurship system in cooperation with startup incubators and innovation centers to harness research capabilities and enable technology transfer policy to serve the goals of sustainable development, and the university also stressed the importance of community participation through awareness and education programs, knowledge exchange, and support for cooperative projects to achieve sustainable progress in the development of the local community, in a way that serves the goals of sustainable development at the national level, and the university's keenness to align its academic programs and scientific research with national development priorities. Management: The Student Club is one of the most important vital facilities in the deanship of student affairs where many cultural, social and sports activities and seminars, training courses, visits and trips internal and external, as it is the headquarters of the president to practice cultural, social and sports activities and various hobbies for all university students in general.

The Deanship of the Center for the Studies of Voluntary Work at Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University organized a number of various events and activities on the occasion of the International Day of Volunteers, which is held every year on the fifth of December, in cooperation with the Faculty of Medicine at the University, and these events come out of the Deanship's keenness to spread the culture of volunteering and its development in light of the social need to volunteer in various aspects of life.

This was explained by the Dean of the Deanship of the Center for Voluntary Work Studies, Advisor to the Rector of the University, Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Samel, who pointed out that on the occasion of the International Day of Volunteers in cooperation with the Faculty of Medicine at the University, the Deanship launched a health program that cares about the health of community members, through an awareness campaign consisting of mobile clinics that provide integrated medical services in addition to guiding people to the best sound medical practices.

The Deanship, represented by the Women's Section, also organized an awareness lecture on volunteering and its objectives, in addition to highlighting the objectives and programs of the Deanship of the Center for Voluntary Work Studies, where this lecture will be delivered by Dr. Amal Al-Khudair, Vice Dean of the Center, and on the sidelines of this lecture an awareness corner was held for the International Day of Volunteers highlighting the efforts of volunteers and the importance of volunteering in the service of individuals and communities.

Dr. Al-Samel stressed that these events come within the framework of the objectives of the Deanship, which seeks to enhance the status of volunteerism, spread its culture and correct its concepts, by encouraging various studies and programs, based on its mission to provide a scientific and practical environment with precise standards that ensure the enrichment of knowledge in this field and its vision aimed at leading in providing integrated research, executive and advisory services that combine two important aspects of volunteering, the scientific and applied aspect.

The Dean of the Center for Voluntary Work Studies at Imam University also pointed out that the Deanship seeks to reach the leadership and the main reference in volunteering at the university level, pointing out at the same time that the programs and activities of the Deanship are compatible with the aspirations of the future vision of the Kingdom (2030) in the field of volunteering, which seeks to raise the number of volunteers from 11 thousand volunteers to one million volunteers.

According to the directives and follow-up of His Excellency the President of the University, the Institute of Arabic Language Education completed the educational program for the employees of the Diriyah Gate Development Authority, which lasted (12) weeks, during which (72) educational units were studied, which included Arabic language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing). It is worth mentioning that the Institute of Arabic Language Teaching is one of the most important educational institutions specialized in teaching Arabic and preparing specialists in applied linguistics in the world. Since its establishment more than three decades ago, it has contributed to the graduation of a large number of Arabic language learners and teachers.

It is also a house of expertise in implementing Arabic language teaching programs for public and private purposes, as the first Arabic language teaching program was implemented in 1397 AH. The number of beneficiaries of the Institute’s programs in teaching Arabic for special purposes from 1400-1440 AH is approximately (5200) out of (12). ) state, and the number of beneficiaries of training courses for the qualification of Arabic language teachers from 1400-1440 AH reached nearly (2300) from (16) countries.

The Institute also implemented a program for teaching Arabic for special purposes for employees of (the Ministry of Defense from the country participating in the fight against terrorism) for two consecutive years 1439-1440, and 1440-1441 AH, and the number of beneficiary countries reached (12) countries. It also implemented two programs to teach Arabic for employees of the Public Investment Fund for the year 1439 AH - 1440 AH, and the number of beneficiary countries reached 13.

In line with the university’s strategic plan to improve the educational process and enhance effective partnerships, the institute has developed the “Intermediate Associate Diploma for Teaching Arabic for Special Purposes” program with its four tracks (military - diplomatic - medical - economic) and approved by the university council in its resolution No. (55-10/1441-1442 AH). The Institute also presented the (Arabic for All) initiative to meet the community’s needs in teaching Arabic to speakers of other languages, who work in multiple entities that serve the development of Saudi society and contribute to achieving its vision.

The Institute of Arabic Language Education has also built educational programs in the field of teaching Arabic for special purposes, and implemented in cooperation with various authorities inside and outside the Kingdom; In order to ensure the achievement of the Kingdom’s civilized vision towards the world, and the university’s mission to contribute to the teaching and dissemination of the Arabic language through the development of distinctive programs, within the framework of an integrative linguistic content in accordance with the latest modern strategies, and a cultural one that achieves close relations between the Kingdom and the countries of the world, and contributes to facilitating the needs of Saudi society.

The Department of Physics has paid the sixth scientific visit to SABIC Plastic Applications Development Center (SPADC). (SPADC) is the biggest center in the Middle East and ranks among the world's third largest petrochemicals manufacturers. The visit took place on Thursday 8 Dec 2016 under the supervision of Dr. Mervat Alzumay', the vice head of the department; and Ms. Tarfah Al-'Inad, the activity supervisor and a faculty member at the department; and a group of a students. The delegation was welcomed by his Excellency Eng. Abdulmalek Al-Sulaimi.                                                                      

A welcoming statement was made by Eng. Abdulmalik, and then a presentation was delivered about lab safety rules especially in cases of fire. A number of varied issues were covered throughout the visit to (SPADC) as a developing specialist of advanced plastic applications in the fields of automotive industry, electronic industry, construction materials, cables industry, packaging machinery pipes industry, medical supplies, tire production anpolymer.                                                                          

Different topics were explained throughout the visit about polymer science, by Eng. Fayez, including polymer properties and usage in the plastic industry and kinds of plastic materials manufactured in the center. Eng. Abdulmalik Al-Sulaimi pointed out some plastic applications as: injection molding, blow molding (Plastic bottle engineering), extrusion (pipes - plastic bags - plastic sheets), textile production, construction, packaging, automobile and other products supported by the center. Eng. Al-Sulaimi stressed the importance of innovation in the field of plastic industry.                                                                               

A field tour in the lab was arranged with detailed explanations by a group of engineers about the  stages of plastic industry. Eng. Fayez presented samples and forms of plastic applications such as: injection molding, blow molding (Plastic bottle engineering) , extrusion (pipes - plastic bags - plastic sheets), textile production (terrestrial textiles and ropes), and other products supported by the center .                                                                                        

After that, the delegation toured other laboratories in the center, which analyze and test a sample of the product after its manufacturing:

The students expressed their happiness and gratitude to the College of Science and the Department of Physics, which provided them with the opportunity to visit SABIC Center and to explore its departments and objectives which is of great benefit in terms of broadening their scientific and professional prospects after graduation.
